Mary Simmons King

KING, Mrs. Mary L. Simmons, age 73, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Duncan, Rev. Clay Crum, and Mr. John Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Pete” King, Jr.; her parents, Robert and Voncile Byrd Simmons; two sisters, Peggy Jean Duncan and Susie Caldwell; and two brothers, Lamar Simmons and Robert Junior Simmons. She is survived by her daughter, Alanda (Floyd) Wright; two granddaughters, Jamilyn Wright and Taylor (Dalton) Greer; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Grace Greer; two sisters, Debbie (Louie) McCullough and Becky Duncan; and two brothers, Charles (Louise) Simmons and James Randy (Bonnie) Simmons. Active pallbearers will be Lee Simmons, William Simmons, Mark Simmons, Joey King, Michael King, and Ronnie Gardner. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8pm.
