Mary Ruth Pinckard

PINCKARD, Mrs. Mary Ruth Johnson, 83, a resident of Brantley died Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, February 13, 2015 at Mt Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Davis and Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Pinckard is preceded in death by her husband, C.D. “Pete” Pinckard; her parents, John and Gladys Cowart Johnson; and a brother, Donald Johnson. Survivors include two children, Cynthia Lowery and Ronnie Pinckard; three grandchildren, Casey Pinckard, Paul Lowery, and Dalton Lowery; one great grandchild, Kinsley Rae Pinckard; four sisters, Audrey (Ronald) Sasser, Evie (John) Spencer, Betty (Nick) Gaines, and Patsy (Bill) Roberts; a brother, Ronald (Jan) Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Beck, Snow Pinckard, Johnny Knighten, Bob Witherington, Lomax Kimbro, and Lamar Folmar. Nick Gaines, Bill Roberts, Mark Andrews, and her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10 am until service time.
