Ms. Mary was president of the Glenwood Community Center for years, and she was Secretary of the Festival at the Well. She just might do a little dancing at the street dance those nights too. She was a very outgoing person who loved people, both being with them and helping them. She was a big Alabama Football fan and loved to watch every game. She also enjoyed playing bingo and fishing. In her younger years, she thoroughly enjoyed going camping with her family. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was known to really spoil her great-grandchildren too. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Ms. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Roscoe Sexton; her parents, I.B. & Marie Harris Simpson; and siblings, Catherine Rountree & Murrel Simpson. She is survived by her children, Raymond (Lydia) Sexton and Ramona S. (Rudy) Velez; grandchildren, Lauren (Brady) Dunn, Stephanie Beasley, Scott Sexton, Caitlin Sexton, and Skylar Sexton; great-grandchildren, Braylor Dunn, Braxley Dunn, and Mary Raegan Beasley; sisters, Bonnie Dove and Brenda (Fred) Dumas; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Armstrong, Judy Sexton, and Bettie Jo Simpson; brother-in-law, Malcolm Daniels; and numerous nieces & nephews.
