Mary Sue Smith

SMITH, Mrs. Mary Sue Mount, 76, a resident of Andalusia, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 2 PM on Monday, July 10, in the Luverne First Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Crum officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Smith was loved and known to all as “Sue Baby.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Elvie Johnson Mount, sister, Maurine Mount Stein, and brother, Joe Carroll Mount. She is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, William Stewart Smith, three children, Vicki (Mark) Knox, Ashley (Angela) Johnson, Chris (Leigh) Johnson, seven grandchildren, Suzanne Knox (Tim) Lowery, Caroline Knox (Spud) Lynn, Andrew (Hannah) Johnson, Ashlyn Johnson, Chase Johnson, Anna Leigh Johnson, and Baleigh Johnson, and five great-grandchildren, Charleigh Lowery, Isaac Lowery, Amy Lowery, Nicole Lowery, and Ellie Butler. Active pallbearers will be Andrew Johnson, Chase Johnson, Spud Lynn, Tim Lowery, Jerry Mount, and Jeremy Mount. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either the Luverne First Baptist Church or Glenwood United Methodist Church. They will receive friends at the church on Monday from 12:30 – 2 PM.
