Mattie Thomas Simmons

SIMMONS, Mrs. Mattie Thomas, 72, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016. A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Simmons at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 24, in Rock Hill Cemetery with Rev. Rex Reeves officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Ferris E. Simmons, and her parents, Elsmore and Louise Hatch Merchant. She is survived by her two children, Dennis Simmons and Cynthia (Jeffery) Savage, and six grandchildren, Jeremy Simmons, Teresa Simmons, Terry Simmons, Joseph Savage, Blake Savage, and Rebekah Savage. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.
