Mavis Brown Cauthen

CAUTHEN, Mrs. Mavis Brown, 80, a resident of Lapine died Monday May 31, 2010 after an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday June 3, 2010 at New Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. William Leverette and Rev. Scott Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Cauthen is preceded in death by her parents, General and Belle Meredith Brown; two sisters, Dorothy King and Grace Mullins; and a brother, Glen Brown. Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, Grady C. Cauthen; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Beverley Cauthen; two grandsons, Derek Cauthen and Blake Cauthen; two sisters, Luthenia Smith and Faynell Posey; three brothers, Reginald (Florence) Brown, Kenneth (Patsy) Brown and Henry T. (Dean) Brown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
