Melanie Baker Sawyer

SAWYER, Mrs. Melanie Baker, 43, a resident of Highland Home died Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Carson officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Sawyer is preceded in death by her mother, Sue S. Layton, her step-father, Charlie Layton, and her brother, David Chester Baker. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Kenneth Sawyer; her father, Chester Baker; two sisters, Vicki (Wayne) Benton and Tracey Henderson; one brother, Scott (Mechelle) Baker; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Braswell, Kevin Braswell, David Miller, Chad Leverette, Shannon McKenzie, and Doug Miller. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
