Melinda was a God-fearing woman who loved nothing more than being a mother and a "Nana." Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and taking care of them, especially her precious grandchildren. She was an incredibly outgoing person who was truly larger than life, and she had a smile that could light up any room she was in. She was also a gifted chef, spending much of her working career preparing food, and took great pleasure in making meals and special treats for her family and those she loved.
Melinda also loved music and singing along to her favorite songs. Unlike so many, she loved cleaning and always kept her home in tip-top shape. She was often one of the first to lend a helping hand to anyone she knew needed it. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt who cherished her family more than anything else in her life. Her light has left this world far too soon, but her family will find comfort in their treasured memories of her as she lives on through them.
Ms. Scott was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Scott. She is survived by her beloved sons & daughters-in-law, Blake & Courtney Bryan and Zach & Marissa Bryan; grandchildren, Brodie Bryan and Baylor Bryan; "grand pup," Maggie Bryan; mother, Annie Holmes Scott; sisters, Sheila Markham, Cathy Dubose, Patricia Compton, Betty Caldwell, Melissa Scott, and Normal Ballard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Shawn Dubose, Corey Robinson, Ryan Compton, Justin Bayman, Eric Compton, and Keith Bryan. Honorary pallbearers will be DeWayne Dubose and Jimmy Compton.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Melinda Scott Memorial Fund at First Citizens Bank.
They will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 25th, from 10 -11 AM.
