Merle Spivey Richburg

RICHBURG, Mrs. Merle Spivey, 93, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Funeral services for Mrs. Richburg will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 18, at Camp Ground United Methodist Church with Rev. Timothy Davis and Rev. Dunford Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Richburg was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Richburg, daughter, Wanda Martin, granddaughter, Stephanie Martin, parents, Bryant and Mattie Sorrells Spivey, two sisters, Corrine Butts and Geraldine Rhodes, and two brothers, Aubrey Spivey and Otis Spivey. She is survived by three children, Linda (Robert) Kies, Brenda (Mike) Davis, and Kyle (Sherri) Richburg, son-in-law, James Martin, ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Josh Lanier, Jimbo Campbell, Jonathan Kies, David Kies, Danny Jones, and Daniel Davis. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Camp Ground United Methodist Church or to one’s favorite charity. The body will lie-in-state at the church for one hour prior to service time.
