Merrill "Mink" Kendrick Davis

DAVIS, Mr. Merrill K. “Mink”, 84, a resident of Glenwood, AL passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, November 28, 2012 with his loving wife and children by his side. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2 PM from Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Luverne, AL with Rev. Bobby Weeks and Rev. Jim Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, Glenwood, AL with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Hattie Davis; a sister, Sue Beth Carroll; and four brothers, Raymond Davis, Joe Davis, Melvin Davis, and Horace Davis. Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Malvena Tyler Davis; his four children, Gail(John) Lee, Merrill (Joseph) Taylor, Melissa (Mike) Kilcrease, and Neal Davis; eight grandchildren, Stacie Taylor, Shelly (Kent) Lisle, John Merrill (Emily) Lee, Jane (Tony) Klingmeyer, Stephen (Ashley) Kilcrease, Adam (Lauren) Kilcrease, Randy Davis, and Christy (Randy) Moore; eleven great grandchildren, Justin Hollon, Brandon Hollon, Anna Lee, Isabelle Lee, Charlotte Lee, Davis Kilcrease, Ansley Kilcrease, Anna Kilcrease, Tate Kilcrease, Carlee Moore, and Branden Moore; four sisters, Byrl Tate, Mary King, Patricia Barnett, and Martha Ellis; and three brothers, Johnny Davis, Paul Davis, and Claude Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage in Troy, AL, The American Heart Association, or a charity of one’s choice. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday afternoon from 1 pm until service time.
