Minnie Witherington Stringer

September 26, 1939 — January 28, 2024

Honoraville

Minnie Witherington Stringer, 84, a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, January 28th, 2024. Funeral services for Minnie will be held at 1 PM on Friday, February 2nd, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Derek Gobert officiating. She will then be laid to rest beside her husband in Roper Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at service time.

Minnie had the biggest heart of gold you could ever hope to meet. She was generous to a fault, as well as being unfailingly kind to everyone she met. She was certainly an inspiration to anyone who knew her because she not only never believed in giving up or in lost causes, but also embodied the great value in hard work throughout her own life. There were few things she enjoyed more than taking care of her farm, whether it was bailing hay, feeding the cows, or taking care of the chickens, there was no task she wasn't prepared to handle with unenviable competence. Minnie was also a wiz in the kitchen as well because there was no one who could make a pan of dressing that could ever top hers. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treated her family like the priceless treasure they were. She loved all of them with all of her heart, but, you know, no one could top those grandchildren and great-grandchildren to this Grandma! Words will never be able to capture just what a special soul Minnie was, nor how very much she will be missed; however, her loved ones will be able to find comfort in the lifetime of memories they made together.

Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Glyn Stringer; son, William Bill Stringer; parents, Robert Daniel & Lucille Tate Witherington; and sister, Molly Witherington. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mickey Ray and Patty Stringer; daughter-in-law, Meg Stringer; grandchildren, Sara (J.D.) Dorman and Austin (Kaylon) Stringer; great-grandchildren, Rheya Dorman and Emilia Dorman; siblings, Dan Witherington, Bob Witherington, and Larry (Cindy) Witherington; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Stringer, Cade Stringer, J.D. Dorman, and Austin Stringer.
