Mon-A Juanita Pettus

PETTUS, Mrs. Mon-A Juanita McLeod, 84, a resident of Luverne, AL died Thursday, February 23, 2012. A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 2 PM in Providence Cemetery with Rev. William Leverette officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Pettus is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Pettus; her daughter, Karen Wyrosdick; parents, James Henry & Beulah Mildred McLeod; two sisters, Temple Delores Kennedy and Jacquelyn Lucille Bryan; her brother, Clifford Durwood McLeod; and son-in-law, Butch Kilpatrick. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Jeanine(Danny P.) Brannon of North Palm Beach, FL, Mon-A Kilpatrick of Luverne, AL, and Lenora Thrower of Glenwood, AL; six grandchildren, Matthew W. Brannon, Morgan Brannon, Murray(Suzanne Brinkley) Gibson, Hensley Thrower, James Rodney(Jessica Fowler) Wyrosdick, and Thomas Jason Wyrosdick; four great grandchildren, Carter James Gibson, Sara Elizabeth Gibson, Cora Elizabeth Wyrosdick, and Cassie James Wyrosdick; her cousin, Charles Osborne McLeod, his late wife, Clarissa Maria Darscht McLeod, and their children, Clarissa Maria McLeod(Kraig) Harshbarger and Thomas Francis McLeod. Active pallbearers include Billy King, John Nichols, Jimmy Baggett, John Folmar, Dwight Faulk, and Byron Hughes. The family will receive friends at Turner Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.
