Mona Elizabeth Morgan

MORGAN, Mona Elizabeth, 57, daughter of the late Howard and Mary Coker Capps Morgan and native of Luverne, AL, died September 22, 2017 in Northport, AL. A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 23 in Rutledge Cemetery with Rev. Malcolm Butts officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Ms. Morgan lived in Luverne with her loving parents and family for the first 38 years of her life. She also lived happily for many years in group care homes in Greenville, AL and Tuscaloosa, AL before being cared for by the dedicated staff of the Glen Haven Nursing Home in Northport, AL. Ms. Morgan is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mary Coker Capps Morgan. She is survived by five siblings, Mary B. Morgan of Birmingham, Martha Morgan (Mike Adams) of Tuscaloosa, Sam (Dianne) Morgan of Pensacola, FL, Jimmy (Gail) Morgan of Alexandria, VA, Melanie (Larry) Cannon of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Rutledge Cemetery Fund or to one’s favorite charity. The family would like to thank the many caregivers who were a part of Mona’s life.
