Mr. Morris Allen Mount, 59, a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022. A graveside service for Allen will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 25th, in Rutledge Cemetery with Brother Clay Crum officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Friday.
Allen was the embodiment of so many of the best aspects of humanity: humble, kind, selfless, and compassionate towards others. He was generous to a fault with everyone he met and could always be depended on to go to any lengths to help those who needed it. Allen always kept an optimistic viewpoint as he focused on only the bright side of his life. That bright side included his beloved family and his more recently acquired church family at First Baptist Church of Luverne. He was also a well-known workaholic who could always be counted on to show up on time and ready to work as long as he was needed. Allen has truly been an inspiration for so many in how to handle the slings and arrows of life without complaint and always with a smile on his face. That smile could light up the world, especially that of all those who knew and loved him. They will miss him terribly, but they will find comfort in the knowledge that he is no longer suffering, but happy and whole in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. & Bonnie Louise Bolling Mount, and his siblings, Jimmy Mount, Junior Mount, Jerry Mount, Kenny Mount, Bobby Mount, Arnold Mount, Nita McGough, and an infant sister. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jacqueline Godwin Mount; his children, Josh (Crystal) Mount and Jessica (Cody) Coffin; grandchildren, Jackson Mount, Braxton Smith, Oaklynn Rae Coffin, Ryan Gooden, Abby Gooden, Lauren Gooden, and Hannah Gooden; his sister, Sue (Dwight) Senn; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Daryl McGough, David McGough, Scottie McGough, Josh Mount, Brandon Acreman, and B.J. Senn.
