Myra Elizabeth Pouncey

POUNCEY, Mrs. Myra Elizabeth Tisdale, 90, resident of Glenwood AL, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Funeral services for Mrs. Pouncey will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 21, at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carson and Ricky Grant officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Pouncey was a faithful and dedicated member of Bethel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many decades. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Eugene Pouncey; great-grandson Jacob Sawyer; her parents, Dewitt Llewellyn and Vera Ovada Roberts Tisdale; three sisters, Frances (Earl) Wells, Alene (Sam) Crawford, and Ellen Ward; two brothers, Wesley (Mary Cathon) Tisdale and and Travis (Peggy) Tisdale; and two brothers-in-law, Balford McElwain and Jasper Franklin. Mrs. Pouncey is survived by her six children, Ralph Eugene Pouncey Jr., Charles "Ronny" Pouncey, Sue (King) Hughes, Linda (Larry) Tomlin, Doris (Terry) Moody, and Peggy (George) Tranum; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris McElwain, Patricia Franklin, and Mary Kelly; brother, Quitman (Carolyn) Tisdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Bryan Pouncey, Zachary Johnson, Kevin Ward, Christopher Scott King, Andrew McGee, and Kevin Tranum. The remaining grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 5123 North Glenwood Road, Goshen, Alabama 36035. They will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1 – 2pm.
