NORRIS, Mrs. Onvie Rushing, 88, a resident of Luverne died Monday December 30, 2013. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday January 2, 2014 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Marler officiating. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Norris is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Austin Norris; her parents, John and Missouri Cook Rushing; six sisters, Mamie Moore, Claudie Ham, Pearlie Dyess, Sarah Thames, Mary Alice Bowers and Lillie Kelley; eight brothers, Ronald Rushing, Grover Rushing, Rufus Rushing, Cecil Rushing, George Rushing, Edlow Rushing, Alto Rushing, and Alvie Rushing; her parents-in-law, Z.F. and Winnie Lester Norris; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frances and Bufford Miles, Fraser and Willie Bell Norris, Forest Norris, and Frank Norris. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Ann Norris and Flonell Carnes and a brother-in-law, Fulton (Vivian) Norris. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10 am until service time. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Hospice Advantage of Troy, Al or to one’s favorite charity.
