Opal Owens Sexton

SEXTON, Mrs. Opal Owens, 90, a resident of Honoraville died Wednesday July 9, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday, July 11, 2014 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Leverette and Rev. Malcolm Butts officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her husband, Theo T. Sexton; a daughter, Judith Sexton; her parents, Coley and Minnie Bell Owens; a sister, Merle Bell; and a brother, Clyde Owens. Survivors include six children, Melton (Joan) Sexton, Carl Sexton, Kathleen (Malcolm) Butts, Betty (Douglas) Butts, Tim (Barbara) Sexton and David (Pam) Sexton; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Ersie Bell Mosley, Myrtle Cauthen, and Nellie Ruth Williamson; and two brothers, Hense Owens and Nelson Owens. Active pallbearers will be Ray Butts, Tommy Butts, Jason Owens, David Parrott, Justin Sexton, and Josh Heartsill. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1 pm until service time.
