Patricia Sanderlin Wingard

Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Sanderlin Wingard, 66, a resident of Grady, Alabama, lost her battle with cancer and went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 23rd, 2021. Funeral services for Patricia will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 29th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. George Browder officiating. Interment will follow in Helicon Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and to know her was to love her. Pat was sweet, kind, and funny, and her favorite title was "YaYa." When Pat loved, she loved with her whole heart, whether you knew her from work, school, Girl Scouts, or the softball field, where she spent most of her summers. She was considered mom to so many during those softball days as well, and she inspired her daughters to be the best mothers they can be.

Pat enjoyed spending time with her family. She spent her childhood traveling from post to post as an Army brat, and she especially loved living in Alaska in her later years with the love of her life, Jim. She loved spending her later years telling stories and sharing memories, reconnecting with old friends, and having her family around.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, William Lee & Marion Schroeder Sanderlin; brother, Ralph Sanderlin; niece, Whitney Sanders; and parents-in-law, James E. Sr & Grace Wingard. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James. E. "Jim" Wingard Jr; their daughters, Nicki Wingard (Raymond) Barber and Jessica Wingard (Kyle Kelley); grandchildren, Raymond Barber Jr, Sara Johnson, Carter Hinton, Taylor Hinton, and Joshua (Annie) Hinton; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Beasley and Addie Norwood; sisters, Diana (David) Johnson, Tina (Jeffrey) Dunn, and Maria (Driscoll) Colquett; and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Walt Sanders, Burt Sanderlin, Dane Sanderlin, Tyler Sanderlin, David Green, Alex Green, Blake Dunn, and Luke Aplin.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 27th, from 6 - 8 PM.
