Pauline Dixon

Luverne

Edyth Pauline Dixon, 68, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Troy Regional Medical Center on Sunday, January 14th, 2024. A private memorial service will be held at a later time.

Pauline was born and raised in Poca, West Virginia and earned a degree in Art from West Virginia State University. Following graduation, Pauline enjoyed a widely varied occupational history from driving a bus at Disney World to traveling the country as a long-haul trucker with the love of her life, her husband Mike, and finally as an Vision Center Associate at Walmart in Troy. In her free time, Pauline thoroughly enjoyed any artistic expression she could find. She loved sewing and painting, but crafting was probably her most frequent activity because she could make anything she set her mind to. She was also a phenomenal cook and baker whose homemade noodles were just absolutely delicious. Above all, Pauline was just a wonderfully warm and lovable woman who could keep you in stitches with her razor sharp wit. She was also an extremely generous and compassionate person who had the biggest heart for people who needed help at their lowest, though her greatest passion was opening her home to as many rescue pets as she could. Pauline always loved animals of every kind, but she was always quick to scoop up any dog or cat she found who desperately needed a new home with a warm bed, sustenance, and plenty of love & affection. If only everyone had a heart like Pauline, the world would certainly be a much better place.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Paul McClure and Bessie Lee Green Silman. She is survived by her adoring husband of 25 years, Michael Dixon; siblings, Edith Kendall, Debbie (Jeff) Kraschnewski, and Tim Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to one of Pauline's favorite charities, Animal Tails Rescue at 408 Lee Street, Luverne, Alabama 36049 or www.animaltailsrescue.org.
