Peggy Tate Mclelland

Peggy was born on December 30, 1943. On September 7, 2021, surrounded by family, she passed away after succumbing to her fight against cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Byrl Tate. She is survived by the family she loved fiercely: her 3 daughters, Andrea McLelland Toole, Angie McLelland (Jeff) Luckie, and Ali McLelland (Steve) West; her brother, Morris (Ann) Tate; her 8 grandchildren, Daryll (Toby) Mitchell, Jherri (Matt) Yelverton, Chandler (David) Taylor, Tate Treiber, Courtney Fortunato, Lili West, Luke West, and Levi West; her 7 great-grandchildren, Hunter Treiber, Aidin and Gantt Mitchell, Mila and Nora Yelverton, and Margaret and Charlotte Taylor; her dear friend, Shirley B; her nephews, Jim (Judith) Tate, Will (Spring) Tate, and Matt (Misty) Tate; and all the Davis uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Peggy's greatest passion was for her family. She also took great pride in her career as a teacher. Peggy loved traveling and planning anything. She even planned her funeral!

Funeral services for Mrs. McLelland will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 11th, at Glenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
