Peggy Irene Morgan, 81, a resident of Letohatchee, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025. Funeral services for Peggy will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 18th, at Union Baptist Church with Brother Jack Cates officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service time.
There was no more cherished role in Peggy's life than that of grandmother. The two generations who called her "Grandma" were her absolute heart and soul. Now, that doesn't mean she didn't adore her children as well, but we all know how special those grandchildren are! After all, the parent with the all the rules who raised you is definitely not the grandparent with NO rules who spoils your kids!! Truly though, Peggy was just such a genuine soul who brightened every room she entered with her megawatt smile and good-natured humor. She was the kind of grandma who was always down for anything and everything you wanted to do simply because it was time spent with you. Besides, she loved being on the go in general, especially when there was a restaurant included in the outing. That being said, no one could beat her potato soup and life simply won't be the same for the family without her beloved homemade chocolate chip cookies. Obviously, Peggy was all about love, especially in regard to her beloved family, who loved her back just as much.
Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard A. Morgan; grandson, Blain Bell; parents, Max & Grace Beck Blodgett; and siblings, Sarah Allison, Mary Jo Hagerman, and Warren Blodgett. She is survived by her children, Leah (Phil) Morgan, Manly Morgan, and Brad (Tracy) Purcell; grandchildren, Jessica (Austin) Bell, Morgan (Amanda) Gafford, Johnathon (Megan) Gafford, Huston (Matt) Becker, and Chase Purcell; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Bruce Blodgett, Joan Blakely, Anita Glendening, and Clarck Blodgett; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Charles "Buster" Taylor, Ryan Conway, Mike Ingram, Leslie King, and Jeff Owens.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Davenport Church of Christ, 42 Highway 97, Highland Home, Alabama 36041.
