Penelope Bratton

Penelope King Bratton, 79, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away at Baptist Medical Center South on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.

Penelope was a devoted caregiver to both her mother and her beloved husband over the years, and she truly thrived when given the opportunity to do so. Her heart was the size of Texas and it extended to the many animals she doted on over the years. She also had a fondness for music, particularly Bluegrass. Above all, she was a thoughtful, caring, and generous soul whose love will continue to leave echoes in her wake.

Penelope was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Larry Bratton, and parents, Charles Raphael & Etta Lou Williams King. She is survived by her siblings, Mary Holland Davis and Walter Alex (Jackie) King; nieces, Patti (Alan) Reynolds and Penny (Steve) Walsh; nephews, Eric (Maki) Davis, Walter (Karmina) King, and John Alan (Jennifer) King; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family members, and friends.
