Phillip Ivan Ballard

BALLARD, Mr. Phillip Ivan, a resident of Luverne was born in Crenshaw County on June 15, 1939 and died on August 13, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Neal Kelley and Rev. Kline Jeffcoat officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Ballard is preceded in death by his parents, Dempsey and Nancy Phillips Ballard. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Louellen Spurlock Ballard; three daughters, Rhonda Ballard Ray, Beth Ballard Foster (Jeff), and Suzanne Ballard; five grandchildren, Shannon Ray Hester (Duane), Jared Ledbetter, Logan Ray, Hillary White, and Bryant Ray: three great grandchildren, Abby and Anna Hester and Baylor Ledbetter; brother, Wayne Ballard (Ann); two sisters-in-law, Margaret Spurlock Ballard (Jim) and Bonnie Spurlock O’Dell (Danny); and a host of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Jered Ledbetter, Logan Ray, Bryant Ray, Jeff Newton, Rayn Ballard, and Kevin Messick. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1 pm until service time.
