Preston Wayne Defee, 23, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, at his home. A celebration of Preston's life will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, July 5th, at Word of Faith in Brantley.

Preston was a proud graduate of Brantley High School where he lettered in football and continued to cheer his alma mater on even after graduation. After graduation, he moved into the logging industry as a machine operator and was always a valued employee because of his strong work ethic. In his free time, Preston loved spending time outside whether it was hunting or fishing, he was usually happiest in the beauty of nature.

To know Preston was to love him. How could you not with his bubbly and fun personality? He was just a silly goofball most of the time, but he was also kind and generous to a fault. However nothing was more important to Preston than his family, and especially his beloved son, Grayson. He was also a loving son, brother, and uncle in a family who truly cherished how very special he was and words cannot possibly express how much he will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Preston was preceded in death by his father, Michael Defee; grandparents, Barny Paul & Audrey Crowe and Jimmy Wayne Defee; uncles, David Crowe & Gary Defee. Survived by his son, Grayson Blaine Bell; mother, Laura Louise Crowe; grandmother, Alice Defee; siblings, Maranda Davis, Mahala Davis, Lacey (Zeb) Chandler, April (Lee) Simmons, and Johnathan Defee; nieces, Jaci Bender, Kinzlie Bell, Ainsley Jordan, Emmalyn Jordan, and Catherine Simmons; nephews, Brody Simmons, River Chandler, & Mason Chandler; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
