Preston Lavern Walker

WALKER, Mr. Preston Lavern, 82, a resident of Luverne died Saturday, March 7, 2015. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Don Yancey and Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment will follow in Vernledge Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Walker is preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ray Walker; a grandson, Steven Scott Rich; his parents, Lelius and Ruby Walker; two sisters, Lena Mae Lott and Joyce Harrison; and five brothers, W.L. Walden, Ed Walker, Rev. Billy Walker, Charles “Buddy” Walker, and Mark Walker. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Vivian Morgan Walker; four children, Wanda Jean Allen, Edward E. Walker, Anthony C. (Tammy) Walker, and Dennis Glenn Walker; six grandchildren, Tammy Renee Benton, Anthony Edward Walker, Jessie Lee Walker, Michael Dewayne Rich, Whitney Lelius Walker and Alaina Deshazo; five great grandchildren, Deana Rich, Marie Nix, Stephanie Glaze, Bridgett Isbell, and Ashton Walker; a sister, Rosa Tollison; and four brothers, Claud (Louise) Walker, Jack (Mary) Walker, Paul (Sandra) Walker, and John (Liz) Walker. Active pallbearers will be Justin Morgan, Keith Watkins, Dave Watkins, Fred Watkins, Buck Watkins and Kyle Brown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 pm until service time.
