Quincy P. " Q.P." Gaines

GAINES, Q. P., 85, a resident of Montgomery, died Saturday March 24, 2012 after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 31, 2012 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Harrison and Rev. Larry Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Gaines is preceded in death by his wife Robbie ("Bobbie") Gaines; their son, Pat Gaines; brother Donnie Hue ("Hootie") Gaines and sister Lillie Savell. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Clay Towery; daughter-in-law, Wanda Gaines; three grandchildren, Justin Gaines, Kyle Towery and Alex Towery; three brothers Herman (Rose) Gaines, Bobby (Joanne) Gaines and Nick (Betty) Gaines; sisters Ruth Mount, Margie Prescott, and Sarah Lou (George) Sewell; sister-in-law Jeanette Gaines; and a host of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Clay Towery, Andy Joiner, Bill Cook, Herman Gaines, Bobby Gaines, Nick Gaines, Jimmy McGuff and Billy Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Hurley Sunday School Class of Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Montgomery. The family will receive friends at Turner Funeral Home Friday evening from 5 – 7 pm.
