Ray Hall Jr

January 28, 2002 — April 16, 2025

Glenwood

Lonnie Ray Hall Jr, 23, a resident of Glenwood, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025. A celebration of Ray's life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 26th, in the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Michael Hughes delivering the eulogy and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.

Ray was never one afraid of work or getting his hands dirty. There wasn't anything he couldn't do and loved to use his own hands to build things that would be so thoughtful and useful for the people he loved the most. His outgoing personality and easygoing, respectful nature made him a wonderful co-worker and friend, and the subject of more than one "kidnapping" plot by other envious parents! Who wouldn't want a young man as warm, caring, and kind as Ray was, especially when it came to those who matter the most in his life. His goofy sense of humor always kept everyone in stitches and made him good entertainment for any gathering of family or friends. Lord, and you knew Ray loved you if he came up with some nicknames for you!

Not only did Ray have a big appetite for life but also a big appetite in general! That boy knew he loved to eat, especially when it came to his daddy's BBQ. And the way to his heart was always going to be a plate of brownies. In his free time, he loved fishing and hunting, like most Southern boys. However, not even his daddy was allowed to encroach on where he picked to throw in his line in the pond! Ray loved his family enough to get up early every Sunday morning to make breakfast for them...and his family loved him enough to eat the pancakes he burned every Sunday morning! However, nothing was more important to him than his beloved 2 month-old son who was the light of his heart and life. And he was so excited to marry Kenley this September.

Ray was a truly treasured son, brother, fiancé, and father who commanded the love and affection of all those who knew him simply by being his wonderful self. He was his daddy's right hand man while also being his mama's little man, "Bubba" to his siblings, and the love of Kenley's life. Those are roles leave behind shoes far too big to fill and grieving hearts for a life taken far, far too soon. Words can never possibly express how crippling Ray's loss is for all those who knew and loved him so well, so every single memory will be relished and treasured for the rest of their lives.

Ray is survived by his beloved fiancée, Kenley Holden Hall; their precious son, Lonnie Ray Hall III; his parents, Lonnie Ray Sr & Ashlee Hall; siblings, Nathaniel Hall and Alana Hall; grandparents, Karen Allen, Bill & Neva Hall, and Randy & Terry Scarborough; and a host of aunts, uncles, extended family members, and cherished friends.
