Rebecca Perrett Beasley, 94, a resident of Petrey, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31st, 2026, while surrounded by her family. A graveside service for Rebecca will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 2nd, in Old Providence Cemetery with Brother Bill Hendrix and Brother Jerry Register delivering the eulogy and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

Rebecca spent most of her life in little Petrey, Alabama, and she truly loved her community with all her heart. She worked as a dietician at the hospital in Luverne for a number of years before retiring to do what she loved more than anything, helping to take care of her beloved grandchildren. She also developed a love of sewing as a young woman and it grew into a lifelong talent that became well known throughout the area. What began with simply sewing clothes for her own children eventually grew into decades of creating handmade garments for generations of other families. Her love of people was evident in her work throughout the years as her favorite part of the job was working with each customer personally choosing designs and fabrics to make sure they had something beautiful that they created together. While she loved creating dresses for anyone, from birth through adulthood, her true gift was in smocking as seen in the gorgeously intricate babies clothes and heirloom dresses.

Rebecca easily made over a thousand dresses throughout her life, though she still always described it as just her "hobby." Besides this incredible business she created from her home, she was also talented in many other ways. She was such a phenomenal cook as well. Everything that came out of her kitchen was absolutely scrumptious but the family was particularly partial to her Southern staples like dressing, dumplings, and red velvet cake. She was also blessed with an amazing green thumb that allowed her to grow some of the most beautiful flowers like roses and hydrangeas. It's no surprise that Rebecca was truly a born nurturer whose love and compassion for others was evident in everything she did. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and "Grandma" to the grandchildren and great-grands who completely stole her heart. She lived a lot in her nine decades on this earth and she leaves behind the most amazing treasure trove of cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all those who knew and loved her.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her infant son, James Edwin Beasley, and parents, Earl & Claudie Summerlin Perrett. She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Cubert Beasley; their children, Sandra Beasley (Don Ecuyer), Wanda (J.D.) D'Arville, and Terry (Greta) Beasley; grandchildren, Michelle Beasley, Kayla Beasley (Chad) Franklin, Michael (Caitlin) D'Arville, Kyle Beasley, and Becca (Audie) Stell; great-grandchildren, Mycah Beasley, Mason Beasley, Lane Franklin, Dawson D'Arville, and John Lawson Stell; brother, Riley (Gail) Perrett; niece, Rena Perrett; nephew, John Perrett; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Kyle Beasley, Michael D'Arville, Audie Stell, Chad Franklin, John Perrett, and Donnie Bodiford.
