Richard David Taylor, Jr.

TAYLOR, Mr. Richard David, Jr., 78, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 4, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Minister Jack Cates officiating. Interment will follow in Berea Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Western Nevada Community College while also serving in the United States Air Force. He later also served with the Air National Guard in both Nevada and Alabama. Mr. Taylor worked for a number of years at Sara Lee and as a data systems supervisor with AT&T. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard D. Taylor, Sr. and Amie Chavers Taylor Reeves, and his sister, Ruby Milstead Evans. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Annette Taylor, two children, Christina Taylor Pearson and Michael David (Dawn) Taylor, five grandchildren, Melissa R. Pearson, Amy L. Pearson, Rhyne David Taylor, Lindsey M. Taylor, and Blythe (Travis) Reed, four brothers, Herbert (Janet) Taylor, Eddie (Zoey) Taylor, Ronnie (Janice) Taylor, and Donnie (Margaret) Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be R. David Taylor, Phillip Nicholson, Taylor Nicholson, William Nicholson, Gene Taylor, and Dexter Taylor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 – 11 AM.
