Robert Eugene Boyd, Sr.

BOYD, Mr. Robert E., Sr., 78, a resident of Luverne died Friday June 28, 2013. Funeral services will be 10 am Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Glenwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Weeks and Rev. Michael Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Boyd is preceded in death by a son, William Franklin Boyd and his parents, Steven W. and Gussie Leavell Boyd. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Martha F. “ Patty “ Boyd; one son, Robert E. “Bo” Boyd, Jr.; and two grandsons, Ben and Luke Boyd. Active pallbearers will be William Till, Mike Akridge, Joe Franklin, Jerry Folmar, Phillip Moore and Gary Morrisey. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Alexander, Johnny Brunson, Roy Money, Ben Boyd, Luke Boyd, David Folmar, Joe Morrisey and Bob Huggins. The body will lie-in-state at the church Monday from 9:30am until service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 pm until 7 pm.
