Mr. Robert Oscar Horn, 82, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Horn will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 7, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Defee, Rev. Kenny Horn, and Rev. Joe Leverette officiating. Interment will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Horn proudly served his country with the United States Navy. Afterwards, he became a drill press operator with Kershaw Manufacturing. He took enormous pride in the work he did there on the night shift, a crew he thought could handle anything thrown at them. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, but loved nothing more than spending the weekends playing ball and other games in the yard with his beloved children. He was a good, Christian man, and a solid, dependable family man. He took care of his parents and grandparents (who had helped raise him), and was a loving father, grandfather, and brother himself. Above all, he was a devoted husband who loved his wife, Ruth, more than anything. His family takes comfort that they have now been reunited with their Lord.
Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Teague Horn, and his parents, William Oscar and Edna Leigh Hill Horn. He is survived by his four children, Stan (Kim) Foster, Greg (Melanie) Foster, Renee (Gerald) Kelley, and Michelle (Chris) Mosley; eight grandchildren, Derrick Foster, Lee (Jessica) Kelley, Trista Foster, Justin Warr, Joshua (Jessica) Warr, Allan (Kaitlin) Foster, Adam (Tori) Foster, and Jamie Kelley; twelve great-grandchildren, Emilee Racey, Haylee Chesser, Emma Kate Jordan, Avery Foster, Lilli Sheffield, Kaydence Kelley, Kannon Kelley, Sydney Warr, Chloe Warr, Jaylyn Lewis, Jaxon Lewis, and Olivia Warr; and 5 siblings, Betty (Tommy) Russell, Joanne (Jimmy) Frankum, Diane (Jimmy) Williamson, Lavon Ward, and Harold (MaryAnn) Teague.
Active pallbearers will be Allan Foster, Adam Foster, Lee Kelley, Justin Warr, Joshua Warr, and Jason McManigle. Honorary pallbearers will be Derrick Foster, Terry Mears, Anthony Frazier, Kenny McGough, Ronnie Best, and Rev. Sam Tate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 - 11 AM .
