Mr. Robert Troy Teague, 51, a resident of Letohatchee, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, October 16th, 2022. A graveside service for Troy will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 20th, in Black Rock Cemetery with Reverend Mister Robert Bailey of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 19th, from 6 - 8 PM.
Troy proudly served his country as a medic with the 82nd Airborne of the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he went on to attend Auburn University Montgomery and then Jones School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate. After passing the bar, Troy opened up his own law practice close to his home. He was well-known in the legal field in his surrounding community and always strived to represent his clients to the upmost of his ability so that everyone received their fair day in court. He was also blessed with musical talent that he often liked to indulge in during his off time. Troy was always game for learning anything new as well, firmly believing that one should never stop educating themselves. Above all, however, he was a devoted family man to his wife, children, and the rest of his family. He knew they were his greatest blessing in life, and made sure they were always his number one priority. He has been taken far too soon in life, but his family will continue to keep his memory alive in their hearts and find comfort in the lifetime of beautiful memories they made together.
Troy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louie & Minnie Teague and Chester Ray & Sarah Hamm; his father-in-law, Gary Shirley; and brother-in-law, Keith Keene. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Beth Shirley Teague; their children, Hannah & Mason Teague; parents, Buddy & Carol Teague; brother, Stuart (Melissa) Teague; nephews, Brandon Brown & Hunter Teague; mother-in-law, Betsey Shirley; sisters-in-law, Christie Kelly, Cathie (Paul) Bolno, Jeanne (Daniel) Walker, and Joan Summerford, as well as their respective families; aunts, Clio & Baba; and numerous other cherished cousins and extended family members.
Active pallbearers will be Stuart Teague, Hunter Teague, Brandon Brown, Chris West, Stewart Wilbanks, Brit Richardson, and Rodney Hayes.
