Roland Ronnie Spivey, 83, a resident of Hope Hull, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, January 8th, 2026. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Roland spent his life in sales, from dairy to insurance, and he was blessed with the kind of friendly and gregarious personality to be a true success in that field. His work ethic was second to none, no doubt because of how he had to step up at a young age to help his mother raise his siblings after his father died. In his free time, he loved spending time outdoors, whether it was tending to his garden or finding a favorite fishing hole. Of course, Saturdays in the fall were for watching college football as he cheered on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Above all, Roland was a good, Christian man who loved his family with all of his heart, especially his beloved wife, Katherine, with whom it was love at first sight when they were just teenagers. Together they built a wonderful life for themselves and their cherished family with memories that will keep him alive for many more years to come.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Amos & Florilla Sanders Spivey, and six siblings. Survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Katherine Messick Spivey; their children, Kathy Overbey, Ronnie Spivey, and Karen Baggett; grandchildren, Alex Overbey, Kellie St. Clair, Sarah Paige Baggett; great-grandchildren, Presley Damron, Sophia Norman, and Sawyer St. Clair; brother Rabon (Diane) Spivey; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
