Mrs. Roma Marie Edwards, 78, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 3, 2020.
Mrs. Edwards devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend. She had a true heart for loving everyone she met, and strangers didn’t stay that way for long. She faced many obstacles during her life, but they only honed her inner strength and resilience. However, none of that would have been possible without her deep faith in her Lord and Savior. Her experiences in life, and outlook on them, were why so many turned to her for advice or comfort during their time of need. She held the respect and love of her community due to just how special she was. Her loss is a blow for all those she leaves behind, but they are comforted that she is now free of pain and all physical limitations in Heaven with her Lord and her beloved husband.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Henry Guy Edwards, and her parents, Buford and May Anna Butler. She is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Greg) Mount and Teresa (Kip) Smith; five grandchildren, Timothy John “T.J.” (Katie) Mount, Alecia (Chris) Jones, Christopher (Lindsey) Smith, Bridget Mount, and Rachael Moseley; eight great-grandchildren, Maddie Smith, J.J. Jones, Samantha Mount, Lilly Smith, Sarabeth Moseley, Hadleigh Smith, Harleigh Smith, and Owen Mount; and three siblings, Mary Ruth (Henry) Singletary, Pat (Calvin) Lebaron, and Joretta (Phil) Rosner.
The family requests any memorial donations be made to Comfort Care Hospice of Greenville, 23 Jameson Lane, Greenville, Alabama 36037 or her church, Luverne Grace Bible Church, 60 Luverne Street, Luverne, Alabama 36049.
