Ronnie Petty Chesser

CHESSER, Mrs. Ronnie Verline Petty, 64, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama died Monday, May 12, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Crum officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Chesser is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Madolyn Pruitt Petty, one brother, Tommy Harold Petty, and one sister, Macie Jean Petty. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Lonnie Chesser; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and William Lawrence Powell; one sister, Mila Mae (Melvin) Flowers; and three brothers, Cecil Petty, Lamar (Tammy) Petty, and William Petty. Active pallbearers will be Casey Petty, Cory Petty, Matthew Pouncey, Cyle Petty, Stanley Boyd, Curtis Flowers, and Josh Tompkins. Mrs. Chesser will lie-in-state at the church Thursday afternoon for thirty minutes prior to service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
