Ronnie Wayne Lester

Mr. Ronnie Wayne Lester, 69, a resident of Glenwood, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022. Funeral services for Mr. Lester will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 2nd, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Chris Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Lester was a lifelong farmer. He was born to it and enjoyed few things more than working the land himself and raising animals like cows and hogs. He shared some of that passion with his children, and they even joined him in show competition for their hogs when they were younger. He was the epitome of a hard worker and had high expectations for all those around him to do the same. He could have a bit of a gruff exterior, but you always knew where you stood with him and he loved his family so very dearly. He continued to share the love of farming with his son and grandson, but he could be counted on to always be there for both of his children and grandchildren. He always knew the value of simple pleasures, be it finding a new favorite restaurant or just a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream. His was a life well-lived, and his loved ones can find comfort in that and in knowing that he has gone on to a restful peace.

Mr. Lester was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Chloe Dawn Lester; parents, Lincoln Houston & Jeanette Dorman Lester; and his infant twin brother. He is survived by his children, Greg Lester and Brianna Lester; grandchildren, Brittany Lester and Micah Lester; siblings, Larry (Debbie) Lester, Virginia Beasley, Lonnie (Holley) Lester, Tony (Wyvonne) Lester, Lynn (Jerry) Engram, and Patty (Curtis) Rushing; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and the love of his life & mother of his children, Barbara Lester.

Active pallbearers will be Mylan Beasley, Nolan Beasley, Jason Lester, David Lester, Jeremy Engram, Bobby Phillips, Houston Lester, and Davis Lester.
