GARRINGER, Mr. Roy, age 78, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Luverne, Alabama, with Rev. Clay Crum, Rev. Joe Leverette, and Rev. Bo Weed officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Garringer was preceded in death by his son, David Garringer, and his parents, Verlin and Nellie L. Garringer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Jo Garringer, three children, Iva (Robert) Duffell, Roger Garringer, and John Garringer, daughter-in-law, Juanita Garringer, six grandchildren, David (Rebecca) Garringer, Amber (Corey) Hester, Jolene Garringer, Jake Garringer, Lauren Duffell, and Jed Garringer, six great grandchildren, and two brothers, Rev. Mark (Susie) Garringer and Lee (Joyce) Garringer. Active pallbearers will be Walley Lacey, Jim Taylor, Joe Brunson, Mike Adams, Jamie Brown, Timothy Brown, Joe White, and Corey Hester. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 until service time.
