Millbrook

Mr. Roydon Van Reaves, 83, a resident of Millbrook, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Prattville Baptist Hospital on Monday, December 27th, 2021. Funeral services for Mr. Reaves will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 31st, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Hunter Sandlin officiating. Mr. Reaves proudly served his country with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, and eventually retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. After his retirement, he went back to school and earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting and began his second career as a certified public accountant. In his free time, Mr. Reaves enjoyed many different sports, as either a participant or spectator. He was an excellent golfer and played softball for years while in the USAF. He was also an avid fan of both the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves. He basically loved any activity that kept him active and in the great outdoors, so he thoroughly enjoyed his later years as a farmer. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him, but they can find comfort in a lifetime of entertaining and cherished memories.

Mr. Reaves was preceded in death by his parents, Buris & Katie Boswell Reaves, and brothers, Walter Raybon & Renell Raybon. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Glenda Godwin Reaves; their daughters, Sherri (Kevin) Sandlin & Terri Gunnells; granddaughters, Sara Sandlin (David Stewart) & Megan (Alex) Hall; great-grandchildren, Lilyann Stewart & Oliver Hall; brother, Royce (Dot) Reaves; and several nieces & nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Reaves, Kevin Sandlin, Alex Hall, David Stewart, Emmett Reeves, and Lamar Reeves.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 - 2 PM.
