Ruby Kate Compton

Mrs. Ruby Kate Compton, 89, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020.

Mrs. Compton dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. There were few things she enjoyed doing more than preparing a wonderful, home-cooked meal for her loved ones. She was also a devout Christian who knew the Bible inside and out, and she was quick to share her faith with all those she knew and loved.

Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her husband, Murrell Funso Compton; her parents, Charlie Ray & Argenia Herrington Sorrells, and two siblings, Nannie Bell Gunter and Carroll Sorrells. She is survived by her two loving children, Charles Compton and Sabrina (Roy) Owens; six grandchildren, Shelley (Ken) Baker, Nicole (Jason) Blackmon, Hagen (Jennifer) Compton, Jeremy (Greta) Owens, Brandon (Jean) Owens, and Jarred (Lauren) Owens; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Bobbie (Byram) Lambert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members & friends.
