Ruby Taylor Evans

EVANS, Mrs. Ruby Taylor Milstead, 77, passed into eternal joy Saturday, October 6, 2012. Born April 23, 1935 to Richard David and Amie Chavers Taylor, she married Bobby G. Milstead(d). Ruby and Bobby raised three daughters: Karen (Don) Brock, Susan (Shannon) Fontaine, and Jerell Milstead. She retired from ALFA Insurance in 1995. In 1999 she married Phillip C. Evans(d) and returned to her beloved Highland Home. In addition to her children, Ruby is survived by her brothers, Richard (Annette) Taylor, Herb (Janet) Taylor, Eddie (Zoe) Taylor, Ronnie (Janice) Taylor, and Donnie (Margaret) Taylor. She leaves to mourn her passing seven grandchildren, Brandi Varner, Lauri Reagan, Misty Poole, Savannah, Ryan, and Hayden Fontaine, and Laura Locke; eight great grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 9 from 5-7 pm at Turner Funeral Home in Luverne, AL. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home chapel Wednesday, October 10 at 10 AM with Minister Jack Cates officiating. Interment will follow at Berea Cemetery in Highland Home with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Active pallbearers will be Shannon Fontaine, Ryan Fontaine, Hayden Fontaine, M. David Taylor, Joel Rutland, and Craig Locke. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Alzheimer Research or one’s favorite charity.
