MATHEWS, Mrs. Ruby Pearl Kilcrease, 94, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018. Funeral services for Mrs. Mathews will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 20, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Ed Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery in Brantley with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Mathews was a lifelong resident of Brantley, where she was extremely active member of her church and community. She was married to W.H. “Jack” Mathews for 35 blessed years, and she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Mrs. Mathews was a member of Weed Baptist Church, and she retired as a training instructor for Kleinert’s after 24 years. She was a blessing to all those whose life she touched, and she will be dearly missed. Mrs. Mathews was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; their son, William Thomas “Tommy” Mathews; her parents, Thomas Mar and Annie Morgan Kilcrease; and brother, Harper Kilcrease. She is survived by her two children, Karen (Johnny) Andrews and Carl Mathews; daughter-in-law, Kay Mathews; four grandchildren, Tonya (Roland) Jones, Tracy (Kevin) Kennedy, Josh Andrews, and Morgan Andrews; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Jones, Carson Jones, Natalie Kennedy, and Jack Kennedy; sister, Jean Hartin; sister-in-law, Ellree Kilcrease; brother, Roger (Mine) Kilcrease; and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Josh Andrews, Roland Jones, Kevin Kennedy, Carson Jones, Jack Kennedy, and Jimmy Beasley. Jerry Kilcrease, Taylor Kilcrease, and David Hartin will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to either Weed Baptist Church, 1163 Old Three Notch Road, Brantley, Alabama 36009; American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org; or the American Heart Association, www.heart.org. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 - 11 AM.
