Ruth Jackson Godwin

GODWIN, Mrs. Ruth Jackson, 84, a resident of Andalusia, Alabama, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 6, from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Andalusia, Alabama with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Godwin was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Godwin, two children, Kenneth Dwayne Godwin and Joann Godwin McCarthy, parents, Ernest and Lillian Pue Jackson, son-in-law, Waverly Williams, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by four children, Jeannette Williams, Connie (John) Wood, Ollie (Marilyn) Godwin, and Jackie (Debbie) Godwin, son-in-law, Elbert McCarthy, daughter-in-law, Stephanie Godwin, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and seventeen great-great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Ollie Godwin, Jr., Joseph Godwin, Donnie Wood, Kenny Godwin, Greg Godwin, and Dwayne McCarthy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 – 11am.
