Mr. R.V. "Billy" Davis, 83, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 20th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Defee and Rev. Terry Marler officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Davis was a devout Christian man and was a dedicated worker for the Lord. He was a gifted musician who loved to strum his guitar along with his favorite gospel and bluegrass songs. He often traveled around the area to perform with friends as well. In his free time, he loved spending time outdoors at his favorite fishing holes. Above all though, he was a devoted family man who loved his family more than anything else on this earth. He will be deeply missed by all of them, but they can find comfort that he now rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Ang & Dollie Chambliss Davis, and his siblings, R.A. Davis, Thelma Meeks, and Delmar Free. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sarah Kelley Davis; their beloved daughter & son-in-law, Lisa & Steve Defee; granddaughter Erica (Josh) Saunders; and great-grandchildren, Axton Saunders and Ella Jordan Saunders.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Cullins, Mike Beck, Alan Coggins, Thomas Kelley, Charles Lowery, Josh Saunders, and James Vickery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 - 11 AM.
