Samantha Ann Russell

Ms. Samantha Ann Russell, 32, a resident of Grady, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 at Crenshaw Community Hospital after a valiant fight against Huntington's Disease. A memorial service for Samantha is not planned at this time.

Samantha was a kind, compassionate, and bright young woman who brought joy into the lives of all those who knew and loved her. They watched her handle all of the struggles life threw her way with grace and strength, while raising her beloved daughter as a single parent for as long as possible until her disease began to win their battle. Words cannot properly express how much Samantha will be missed by her loved ones, but they have found comfort in Luke 23:43, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise," and the knowledge that she is no longer suffering the ravages of Huntington's.

Samantha was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Beckworth; grandparents, Johnny Sr & Bonnie Russell; and her Papa, Michael R. Willcutt. She is survived by her precious daughter, Destiny S. Russell; father, Johnny Russell Jr; siblings, Sabrinna S. Russell and Johnathan Russell; and step-grandmother, Diane Henderson.
