Samuel Millard Carr

CARR, Mr. Samuel Millard, 80, a resident of Luverne died Monday December 10, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday December 12, 2012 at Joquin Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Thomas, Dale Neuendorf, Rev. William Leverette and Rev. Frank Lowery officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Joquin Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Carr was preceded in death by his wife of 55years, Lena Pearl Carr; parents, A. B. and Pauline Carr; and sister, Mary Carr Strickland. He is survived by two daughters, Connie Martin and Cathy(Randy) Wilkes; three grandchildren, Rae Martin, Haden Wilkes and Ryan Wilkes; and one brother, Benny Carr. Active pallbearers will be Dale Neuendorf, Gary Stringfellow, Wyatt Sasser, Lynn Gable, Steve Sanders and Mike Amos. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Alabama National Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 – 8PM. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Samuel M. Carr Scholarship Fund at Luverne High School or the Muscular Dysthropy Association.
