Sara truly loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all of her heart and soul. She truly enjoyed worshiping Him alongside her church family at Shiloh Baptist in Greenville. At home, you could often find her reading her Bible daily and singing gospel songs, particularly "One Day at a Time." In her free time, she was also an avid reader of multiple genres and enjoyed exploring her creative side through her sewing. She was also an absolutely fantastic cook who could whip up the best Southern cooking in her kitchen, and made sure to pass those skills on to the future generations. Sara was definitely a strong-willed and determined woman who always knew her own mind and never left anyone wondering where they stood with her, a rare quality these days. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, "Grandmama," and "GG" to her cherished family and they will miss her more than words could possibly express.
Sara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald R. "Pete" Andress; grandson, Timothy Ray Mills; and brothers, Leon Lee and Charles Lee. She is survived by her children & their spouses, Melinda & Vernon Wood, Donna & Joe Ammons, Terrie & Michael Mills, and Tony & Calita Andress; grandchildren, Justin (Ashley) Wood, Meagan (Kris) Patel, Megan McCullough, Ann Marie (Tristan) Moorer, Whitney Golson (Henry Thomas), Dustin (Lindsey) Mills, and Tally Alumbaugh; granddaughter-in-law, Billie Lynn Smith; great-grandchildren, Drew Wood, Devin Patel, Maggie Patel, Jamie Scott, Meiliani Thomas, Kaelyn Mills, Colten Mills, Easton Katauskas, Logan Katauskas, and Kashton Smith; sisters, Willie Merle Waller and Edwina Lawrence; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
