Shannon Henderson Williams

August 23, 1972 — May 31, 2021

Luverne

Ms. Shannon Henderson Williams, 48, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, May 31, 2021. Funeral services for Ms. Williams will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, June 3rd, at First Baptist Church of Luverne with Rev. Mason Halacker officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Ms. Williams was a proud graduate of both Crenshaw Christian Academy and Troy University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Following graduation, she went on to work with the State of Alabama as a social worker for 25 years, dedicating much of her life to taking care of those who most needed it. Above all, she was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She devoted most of her time away from work to raising her two sons, forming a cherished bond between them. There are no words that can properly express how much she will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her, but they can find comfort in knowing she fought for every single precious moment they had together and is now at peace with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ms. Williams was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugene & Floy Henderson, Sue Bass, and Bobby & Merle Sasser. She is survived by her two sons, Chase Williams and Blake Williams; her parents, Jimmy & Donna Henley Henderson; brother & sister-in-law, Ryan & Lisa Henderson; niece, Abby Henderson; nephew, Tyler Henderson; aunt & uncle, Cindy & Jimmy Morgan; and her longtime companion, Eddie Billings, as well as his two daughters, Becca & Aly Billings.

Active pallbearers will be Chase Williams, Blake Williams, Jimmy Henderson, Eddie Billings, Ryan Henderson, and Tyler Henderson.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1 - 2 PM. They request that any memorial donations be made either to the American Cancer Society or the First Baptist Church of Luverne.
