Lapine

Sherry Ann Meredith, 60, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024. A celebration of Sherry's will be held at a later time.

Sherry was never happier than when she was in her home. It was truly her castle and where her heart lay throughout her life. She dedicated herself to creating a loving and nurturing environment for multiple generations of her family and those she loved like family. There was no greater job in her eyes than that of being "Mimi" to her beloved grandchildren. She cherished every moment she was blessed to spend with them and constantly showered them with her love and attention over the years. However, one should never believe that her love for her family made her a pushover. Sherry was a feisty Southern lady and, as such, she was the one who kept her family in line more often than not. She did so with lots of love and good humor in her heart, and lots of good Southern cooking laid out on the dining room table. Most importantly, Sherry had a strength of character and the determination required to raise her family and serve as their safe harbor in the storms of life. She meant the world to all of them and there is no filling the hole she has left behind, but they will look for comfort in all the numerous cherished memories they made together as she lives on in their hearts and minds.

Sherry is survived by her beloved partner of over 20 years, Willie Primus; her daughters, Samantha (Chris) Jenkins and Angel Hodge; stepdaughter, Jynthia Primus; grandchildren, India Jenkins, Aysha Jenkins, Avary Jenkins, Austin O'Donnell (Maddie Harris), Kaleb Hodge, Noah Hodge, Jeremiah Clemons, Chris (Tiara) Boggan, Alexis Turner, and Zae Jenkins; two much-anticipated great-grandchildren on the way; her parents, Gaston & Annie Sue Jordan Meredith; siblings, Sheila (James) Wilson, Shena (Drew) Powell, and Michael Meredith; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
