Sleety Chandler Mullins

MULLINS, Mrs. Sleety Chandler, 78, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017. Funeral services for Mrs. Mullins will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, June 15, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death by two husbands, Emmett Spivey and James W. Mullins, two daughters, Cindy Sutley and Janie Sue Spivey, two sons, Flint Spivey and Dwight Spivey, parents, Jackson and Cora Nelson Chandler, sister, Mary Moore, and three brothers, Joe Chandler, Benton Chandler, and Horace Chandler. She is survived by four children, Danny (Dorothy) Spivey, David Spivey (friend, Paula), Lisa (Poppy) Gaines-Vera, and Kimberly Mullins, four daughters-in-law, Diane Spivey, Kathy Spivey, Lynn Spivey, and Stephanie Spivey, fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, three sisters, Shirley Williams, Faye (Edd) Manning, and Pat (Roy) Boswell, and brother, James Chandler. Active pallbearers will be Kegan Phillips, Bobby Sasser, Johnny Miller, Rick Johnson, Dennis Manning, Keith Chandler, Kenny Slawson, and Blake Spivey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 – 8 PM.
