Stafford Stephens

STEPHENS, Mr. Gerald Stafford, 85, a resident of Rutledge, AL, passed away on August 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 2, 2013, at 11AM at the County Line Church of Christ with Ministers Jerry Barlow, Dennis Sanders, and Richard Sport officiating. Internment will follow at County Line Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Gould and Verna Stephens; and four brothers, Hubert, Joseph, Dempsey, and Bobby Stephens. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Hazel Faulk Stephens; four children, Donnie (Amy McInvale) Stephens, Marlene Stephens King, Danny Stephens, and Susan (Joey) Stephens Carpenter; nine grandchildren, Jena (Sam) Stephens Smith, Kelsey Stephens, Tara (Donny) Sexton Frazier, Zane Sexton, Shelby Stephens, Ashley Stephens, Katelin Stephens, Erin Stephens, and Zoey Carpenter; two great grandchildren, Brookelyn Frazier and Isabella Smith; a sister, Jewel Stephens Varnum; and a brother, Grady (Elzora) Stephens. Active pallbearers are Kenneth Stephens, Calvin Stephens, Keith Stephens, Billy Snell, Bryan Penn, Ollie Godwin, Jr., Seth Snell, and Joey Godwin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 1, 2013, from 6-8pm.
